1.5.22 // Great at Falling in Love
I'm not sure I've ever been good at being in love.
.
But I've always been incredible at falling in love.
.
If I'm honest, I don't think it's the love part I've been excellent at, it's the falling part where I seemingly excel.
.
Pitching myself off the metaphorical cliff into the hopeless romantic abyss.
.
But the abyss isn't dark, it's full of promise and for a while, the promise of potential can keep you floating.
.
But right as you find comfort in floating is when you drop.
.
Slow at the start, then a rapid freefall as the lust dissipates and the honeymoon stages wane like the receding moon.
.
But this is where I find comfort, the freefall. The heaviness of gravity taking me down without haste.
.
Because the fall is real, no matter how many times it hurts to reach the bottom, the truth and raw feeling of falling is unmatched even by the disillusionment of the jump.
.
So no matter how many times I land at the bottom of the abyss, with broken bones and broken hearts, I'll never stop pitching myself off the cliff towards love.
.
(**DISCLAIMER FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS** Taylor and I are great! This is just poetic expression :) please do not worry).
