5.21.20 // My "I've been in quarantine" too long face

My "I've been in quarantine" too long face...
.
Expertly captured a few years back on a stop through Joshua Tree while moving out to San Francisco.
.
That morning we got up before the sun to try and sneak in a trail-run under the stars. But when we woke up, we found my Uhaul was broken into. My TV and bike (Lorenzo, RIP) were taken.
.
There was footage from the hotel camera that we intentionally parked right in front of so we were optimistic. It took hours for the cops to arrive... the sun rose and the heat slowly started to permeate the air.
.
When the cops finally arrived, they basically looked at the footage and shrugged, explaining to us how there was very little they could do and most likely nothing would turn up.
.
I was livid. But it was out of my hands.
.
We opted to still go to the park, but since we had to check out of the hotel, we ended up having to take Scout with us which meant to were limited to the main roads (to keep things dog-friendly).
.
The heat was brutal and the trail run which was meant to be long and meandering was hot and filled with my aching anger from the morning. For me, this image captures those feelings and the feelings I'm having after being stir-crazy at home.
.
It's a perfect mix of being in a beautiful place, feeling so out of control, and still trying to find some silver linings because after all, all we can control is our reactions.
.
Thanks, @evboymagic for capturing this candid gem!
