9.15.21 // Moody
I originally took this photo for a Strava run.
.
The run was absolutely terrible.
.
I think I captioned the run, "moody*, it's not just the name of the coffee." (On Strava I like to name my runs randomly based on who or what I think they felt like- it's weird I know, but it makes tracking runs less serious for me).
.
A few miles into this one, I quit running and walked to my favorite local coffee shop for an Americano to accompany me the final few miles home. I felt defeated.
.
It's intimidating on social media to follow running content, to see the endlessly epic runs, the Strava reports, the pace or consistency of runners. We're quick to share the good runs, proud of our achievements, but I'm here to share the bad ones too.
.
I'm going to try harder to show the "runs" that make me feel challenged, short of breath, and involve walking it in- moody and grumpy, and anxious.
.
And if you're a runner, a hiker, or anything active, I'd ask you to do the same- show your weak days. Show the days where you're sweaty and overcoming the deep temptation to quit. Show us your Moody.
