2.7.22 // My Gear Closet

What's one piece of gear you can't live without?
.
For me, it's my hand-me-down Salomon trail running vest.
.
It fits a little awkwardly because its first life was as Taylor's ultrarunning vest. Meaning, this faded royal blue vest has been on several hundred-mile trail races, experienced every emotion available to the human condition, and has traveled all over the world. Because this vest has seen so many miles, I'm convinced, it has a bit of magic to it nowadays...
.
But this piece of gear was given to me. I NEVER would have thought I would love one of these vests.
.
When I think about it, a lot of my gear has come through recommendations from friends...
.
Buying gear can be daunting. The options are endless and if you're pulling the trigger on new gear (highly suggest checking thrift stores, Patagonia WornWear, etc. first), it can be an expensive big deal.
.
I know I'm a gear shopper who sits with something in my "cart" for weeks, sometimes months, often waiting until the item is out of stock and then stressing over the fact that I "should have pulled the trigger sooner."
.
So, in hopes of making the gear recommendation journey easier, I'm now sharing mine online! If you check out the link in my bio you'll find a new tab for " Rock Porch - MY GEAR."
.
You'll now be able to see what gear I'm using and my unedited reviews on my favorite pieces! Although we won't be sharing a trail while I tell you all about my favorite shoes or jackets, the Rock Porch platform is a great virtual alternative.
.
My hope is that, like me and my hand-me-down trail running vest, my gear closet on Rock Porch will help you find the pieces of gear that give you a bit of magic.
