Gratitude.
.
When most of us think about Thanksgiving we think about food and family. A big turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, the works... we think about sitting around the table with family and friends. Maybe some uncomfortable conversations, several laughs, and a few epic tales from the year.
.
Signifying the start of the holiday season, Thanksgiving feels like a ramp up of energy. It kicks high vibrations into the air and brings a swirl of intensity. For a lot of us, it can make this time of year tense...
.
But one thing I want us to do more of around Thanksgiving is taking those high vibrations and slowing them down. Turning them into peace and a practice of gratitude, both physically and verbally.
.
Perhaps that’s enjoying a few extra moments in bed this morning to take some deep breaths and appreciate the sweet air in your lungs, maybe it’s taking your family out in a hike to share your gratitude for Mother Nature, or maybe it’s even giving your Aunt Janet that kiss on the cheek so she knows she’s loved and you have gratitude for her.
.
Whatever peace, gratitude, and slowing down looks to you I hope you’ll join me this Thanksgiving in that practice.
.
And as a start of my own gratitude practice, I want to tell each of you that I’m grateful for you. I am grateful for your mind, your soul, and your unique being. Remember you are loved today, even if it’s by a stranger.
