11.27.19 // We’re Told To Want It All.
We’re told to want it all.
.
To work, to hustle, to dream, to relentlessly pursue. To ceaselessly move towards our goals. To fight for what we want. To never settle.
.
See more, learn more, be more.
.
But what if it’s time we take a moment...
.
I think it’s time we relish in the present. To have gratitude for the air in our lungs. To be proud of what we’ve tried and succeeded at and what we’ve tried and failed at.
.
I think it’s time to celebrate the journey and the ebbs and flows of life. To realize that pursuit of growth and desire for betterment doesn’t need to be an all-encompassing challenge and we’re allowed to like where we’re at and who we are at this stage in life.
.
I think it’s time to release our fears that others are watching us and judging us for choosing to slow down an aspect of our lives or, hell, judging us for changing life paths when something might not feel right. (That’s right when something might not *feel* right. Because your feelings, emotions, and instincts are valid and sometimes the most powerful compass.)
.
So this morning or evening, whatever time zone you’re in I propose a toast (I lift up my coffee)...
.
Cheers friends to the now, cheers to growth as it comes, and cheers to freedom and trust in ourselves and the journey.
