4.20.23 // A Simple Sunset

A simple sunset.
.
The finale of the day. The cleaning of a slate.
.
The stars as our ancestors shine brightest in the darkest moments of our day. Little reminders of how much beauty and light can be found on the darkest of nights.
.
In the darkness, we succumb to our most vulnerable state. We sleep in the shadows and surrender to what we cannot see.
.
Yet in daylight, we grasp for what we can see, what we can't see, and forget about the ancestors still over our head, quiet but still loving in their daylight transparency.
.
What if the sunset wasn't the end but the beginning? What if the transitional periods from light to dark and dark to light are reminders that we are never alone, that succumbing to vulnerability is always an option, and that letting go is never a weakness?
.
What if we trusted the day as much as we trusted the night?
