11.17.21 // Fork in the Path

There are moments in life where we feel completely torn by the path forward.
.
It's a fork in the road, a decision that feels so simple but ultimately decides the impending movement forward.
.
Neither decision is the wrong decision, but you can only pick one...
.
One trail might be more challenging- the overgrowth scratching at your ankles as you scramble over hidden rocks and obstacles. The climb is obvious and evident, your muscles aching with each pounding footprint in the mud.
.
But, when you get to the top, it's an otherworldly view. One that only a few have seen and while your body and mind are pushed to the limits, your existence feels exhilarating. You're proud of your push, weary but content.
.
The other trail might be more clear-cut- the path isn't paved, but someone has been here before, you have guidance, markers, and support if you need it. You occasionally pass another hiker and you exchange pleasantries, soft smiles, and deep understanding. Your muscles are still sore, but you aren't exhausted to the extent of the other trail. You are able to joke and laugh and speak without exertion.
.
When you get to the top, there is a group of people. Some friends, some strangers and the view is beautiful. You try to find your own nook to enjoy the present moment and avoid the crowds, but you feel safe, seeing your friends at the top is a pleasant surprise and you are content.
.
The most important part is that each path leads you home...
.
There is no wrong choice, but the journey will make the difference.
