12.27.20 // like rivers
Our paths in life are like rivers.
.
Often unwritten in our early stages, we are morphed and shaped by our surroundings.
.
However, as we age with beauty and grace we start to find our rhythm.
.
Beating slowly at first, we learn to flow.
.
There are still heavy rains that change our paths, dry spells that leave us empty, and natural shifts that come with those we encounter.
.
But as a river, you start to know where your beds lie.
.
Like deep veins, we start to solidly, mapped by adventurers, said to be understood by the many.
.
And yet those many try and change you. They build dams, redirect your flow, or cut you off at the source of your beautiful mountain runoff.
.
But amongst adversity, you’re still a River, you know how to move forward, you know who you are...
.
You know the rhythm.
