2.28.22 // Sense of Joy

There is an unparalleled sense of joy when I hit my stride on a trail run or hike.
.
My feet fall into place, my body propels me forward, and my mind clears as I reach some sort of flow- it's bliss.
.
But, the moments before bliss aren't always as seamless.
.
Anxiety, stress, the weight of the day can hang heavy on me. Even getting out the door can feel like yet another challenge. But 20 minutes... 20 minutes of movement is all it takes for our bodies to generate enough endorphins to change our moods.

Now, I'm not saying that I hit a flow state on every one of my runs, but the opportunity for change starts in only 20 minutes of motion.
