Places where the poppies grow between the concrete. Stretching their red petals towards the sun.

They are beautiful amidst the adversity of development. Natural in a world of cold unnatural stone.

But the adversity of their surroundings didn’t keep them from growing, from unfolding in an array of colors too perfect to describe, from stopping us in our tracks to admire their beauty.

They inspire. A reminder to thrive even if you aren’t surrounded by the familiar. A reminder to bloom even if you aren’t where you thought you would be. A reminder to use your existence to encourage others and remind them of their strength.
